A high precision steel axle replaces the factory axle for the bearing ID. For the bearing OD, a precision bronze sleeve presses into the rear trailing arm.
A urethane outer liner on the outer sleeve absorbs and minimizes road noise and vibration. It also accommodates any irregularities in the trailing arm bore.
Grease fittings are added to distribute grease evenly through the figure 8 groove in the outer sleeve.
